Cycling coast to coast for Domestic Violence

News

Ian Kidd is an avid and inspirational supporter of GYBS, who in 2022 rode 1770km solo from Lake Eyre in South Australia, to Mount Kosciusko in New South Wales to raise awareness and funds for our cause.  Ian Kidd

This April Ian is going to ride over 5400kms + from Coral Bay, Western Australia to Byron Bay, New South Wales. Previously Ian raised and incredible $9,000, and he is eager to smash this previous fundraising milestone for GYBS.
Ian was initially inspired as similarly to the women who access GYBS, he also had to rebuild his life when he received a PTSD diagnosis after losing four of his former students to suicide. Ian accessed services throughout Newcastle such as LifeLine during his mental health recovery, and is motivated by the incredible services available for women who experience DV.
We’re going to be following Ian’s 5,400km + cycling journey on our social media, with him first pedaling off on the 3rd of April in Exmouth, and finishing in Byron Bay on the 13th of May.
To donate to Ian’s fundraising for GYBS please see the link https://www.mycause.com.au/page/303263 and Ian’s Facebook page.
